Mt. Olive Youth Ministry Love Day Program

The Mt. Olive Youth Ministry warmly invites you to join us for our Love Day Program as we come together to celebrate the Love of God. This special service will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

We are honored to welcome our guest preacher, Evangelist Sandy Patterson of Dillwyn Holy Temple, Dillwyn, Virginia, who will bring an inspiring and uplifting message for all ages. This program is a wonderful opportunity for worship, fellowship, and reflection on God’s love through our youth ministry.

150th Anniversary of Mount Olive Church

For a century and a half, Mount Olive Baptist Church, has stood as a beacon of faith, resilience, and community. As the congregation celebrates its 150th anniversary this year, it reflects on a rich history of spiritual growth, service, and unwavering devotion.

Founded in 1875 by former slaves, Mount Olive Baptist Church emerged during the Reconstruction era as a sanctuary of hope and empowerment. In a time of racial oppression, the church became not only a place of worship but also a center for education, fellowship, and civil rights advocacy.

The 150th anniversary is not just a celebration of history, it’s a recommitment to faith, unity, and the legacy that will inspire generations to come.

This milestone anniversary is a time of gratitude and renewal. The congregation is honoring its past through special services, historical reflections, and reunions while looking ahead to future ministries. Revival 2025

Starting on Sunday August 17th, 2025 @ 11am Mount Olive Baptist Church will be hosting a revival.

Each year, Mount Olive Baptist Church holds its Homecoming Celebration, a cherished tradition welcoming former members, friends, and neighbors for a day of worship, music, and shared meals. Following Homecoming, a week-long Revival features inspiring sermons and gospel singing, renewing spiritual connections.

Revivals are powerful expressions of faith, community, and cultural rooted in African American religious traditions. These spirited gatherings combine passionate worship, dynamic preaching, and heartfelt music to renew spiritual commitment and strengthen communal bonds.

Revivals provided a space to worship freely, especially during and after slavery, when religion became a source of hope and resistance.
